Franklin Special School District makes approvals



The Franklin Special School District approved, on second reading, several policy revisions at its Monday night meeting.

The policy revision plans approved included the Basic Curriculum Program, Special Education, Special Education Class and Size Placement, Summer School, English Learners and Students With Disabilities, as well as first readings of Fundraising Activities, Food Service Management and Student Equal Access.

The Basic Curriculum Program changes update the policy to current language and legal references. The Special Education Program approved change is a revision request that updates the age to the appropriate range for the district, language and legal reference section.

“It was all second readings. We had all discussed and read them before,” said Kevin Townsel, newest board member of the Franklin Special School District, at the brief meeting, which took place at Freedom Middle School.

Everything was on the agenda was approved.
