Franklin Police to begin New Year’s holiday patrol Friday evening

In an effort to keep Franklin safe during the New Year’s holiday, an increased number of  Franklin Police Officers are hitting the streets starting Friday night.

According to Lieutenant Charles Warner, “Officers are working overtime to focus on impaired, distracted, and dangerous drivers.”

The Tennessee Highway Safety Office will fund the officers’ overtime in an effort to help keep motorists in Franklin and throughout Tennessee safe.

The FPD is urging Franklin residents to get their driving plans ready in advance of the holiday celebrations.

“If you drive impaired, you will be arrested, you will go to jail,” Lt. Warner said.
