The Franklin Police Department seeks information on a driver of a turquoise blue Ford Ranger pickup truck who evaded police on Sunday Jan. 18.

The FPD reports the driver was spotted going 70 miles-per-hour in a 45 mph zone near Christ Community Church on Hillsboro Road. The officer at the scene made an attempt to stop the driver, however, the driver began driving recklessly, switching lanes and passing other drivers on the road.

The officer lost sight of the vehicle once it turned onto Claude Yates Drive, which connects Franklin High School, Columbia State Community College, and a busy park. The FPD reports citizens in the park told officers the truck sped through the area and down a park trail.

Officers believe the young, white male driver left the area by speeding down that trail for pedestrians and bicycles, and into the Chestnut Bend Subdivision.

The driver’s actions were extremely dangerous, the FPD said in a news release, and there is a Crime Stoppers reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to his identification and arrest.

If you have any information regarding the whereabouts and identity of the driver call 615-794-4000.
