The deadline for the 2019 Kiwanis Club of Historic Downtown Franklin Scholarship program has been extended to Friday, April 19.
The local club will be awarding five $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors who attend a Franklin public or private high school. (Franklin, Centennial, Page, Independence, Renaissance) Seniors who are home schooled and live in Franklin also are eligible.
Students must be a graduating senior with a GPA of 2.5 or higher, be accepted to attend an accredited post-secondary school on a full or part-time basis and have participated in community service and extracurricular activities. Applicants must also submit an essay entitled “How Serving Others has Changed my Life” along with three letters of recommendations.
Applications are due online by midnight on April 19 to email@example.com or be postmarked by April 19, 2019 to PO Box 680723, Franklin 37068.
A Kiwanis Club review committee will select the winners based on the criteria established in the application. Applications are available in guidance counselor offices or by request at FranklinTNKiwanis@gmail.com.
