The Franklin Art Scene, as the monthly event is known, will feature oil architecture and landscape pieces by Elsie McClurg with JGP Artist Group at Savory Spice Shop; the kickoff of eFrom the Masai Mara to the Serengetie by Nashville-based artist Susan Goshgarian McGrew at Jack Yacoubian Jewelers; compositions by Franklin-based artist Shannon Haas at Boutique MMM; the launch of an exhibition by J. Todd Greene at OeMore College of Designes art gallery on South Margin Street; and a showcase by local artisan Terry Anderson of recycled pieces at Heirloom Shop.

eItes a fun way to see some places like OeMore that you wouldnet get into on a day-to-day basis or some of the historic houses that are used for offices,e said Nancy Williams, director of the Downtown Franklin Association, which organizes the event.

The year-round art crawl, started by a group of shops off Main Street to build foot traffic in downtown Franklin, will celebrate its third anniversary in September.

Ites free to see the art but wristbands are available for $5 to get unlimited stops on the art circuites trolley, which returns this month. As many as 1,500 people typically attend the monthly first-Friday event.e

Participants are required to show 10 pieces of art that havenet been shown locally in the past six months, and has featured as many as 40 sites in the past, Williams said.

The Franklin Art Scene lasts from 6-9 p.m.eA smartphone app is available with a map of the circuit and other information. Details are online at FranklinArtScene.com.
