Cold drinks and light rain take the edge off during Sip and Stroll event

A few morning showers fell on downtown Franklin’s first-ever Sip and Stroll, during which several stores offered free non-alcoholic refreshments to shoppers along Main Street.
As the sun eventually came out, businesses such as Hester & Cook, The Registry, Tin Cottage, and Walton’s Antique Jewelry, which are all on Main Street, and Gin-O Boutique, the Juice Bar Franklin, Posh Franklin, and The Purple Butterfly, all on adjacent streets, welcomed customers with cold lemonade, iced tea, smoothies, and much more.
Additionally, many stores also had summer giveaways and discounts.
Although this was the first event of its kind in Downtown Franklin, it was clearly a success, as many customers flocked to these various stores that offered refreshments, as well as bringing business to other stores nearby. Even without the event going on in all establishments, the stores and restaurants were bustling with business.
