Women of Williamson (WOW) is launching a new public awareness charitable event, “Lunch That Matters” this year to provide locally based non-profits serving women in Williamson County and Middle Tennessee with a platform to introduce themselves to the public and showcase the important work they do in the lives of women.
The free-to-attend, 90-minute “Lunch That Matters” fundraising event will allow selected charities to share their missions and stories with luncheon guests who will be given the opportunity to donate and support the charities of their choice.
Hosted by Women of Williamson and emceed by Demetria Kalodimos, former WSMV-Channel 4 News Anchor, “Lunch That Matters” will be held from 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019, at the Franklin Cool Springs Marriott.
Known locally for its Stables & Silks Kentucky Derby Fundraising Party for the past 10 years, WOW has contributed to and supported area organizations, such as Bridges Domestic Violence Center, EndSlavery Tennessee and womens’ scholarships through Columbia State and their own scholarship fund. This year, WOW decided to step forward and provide a voice for some of the nonprofits that may not have the resources or opportunities to increase awareness, build support and receive the recognition they deserve.
Charities may apply to be part of the “Lunch That Matters” event and will be chosen by Women of Williamson on the basis of their scope of service and the positive impact they have on women’s lives in the local community. Those charitable organizations selected to speak will each be given a platform and time during the event to present their mission, cause and story before the luncheon audience.
Interested charities may apply by contacting Linda Jackson at: firstname.lastname@example.org or 615-591-7752 by July 1, 2019. Charities chosen to participate will be notified by July 15, 2019.
Women of Williamson is 501(c )(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to empower women in our community with opportunity and hope for a brighter future.
