The city of Brentwood’s summer concert series will kick off this Sunday evening in Crockett Park, featuring local talent.
Community Relations Director Deanna Lambert says the featured artist for the city’s first concert of the year is a fan favorite, Rubik’s Groove. The Nashville-based ’80s and ’90s tribute band performs high-energy, character-driven acts which “take you back to the best era of music,” according to the band’s website.
Opening for Rubik’s Groove is the Next Door Boys, a band of Franklin-based young people who play covers of classic rock and Southern rock songs. The group will perform beginning at 6:30 p.m. and play for about half and hour.
Lambert said the band won the chance to play in the summer concert series in January during a Battle of the Bands competition during the Yule Ball at the John. P. Holt Brentwood Library.

For the best seats, Lambert recommends arriving early. Food trucks begin serving at 5 p.m., and music by Rubik’s Groove will begin around 7 p.m.
Featured food trucks for the event are as follows:
- Music City Brisket
- Yayos OMG Mexican
- Bradley’s Creamery
- Blue Monkey Shaved Ice
