UPDATED AT 5:12 p.m.

A fire that broke out north of Battle Ground Academy has now been contained.

Responding units began arriving at about 3:30. Units were still arriving and staging at 4:15.

Several ambulances also were on the scene, where white and black smoke were alternating. Fire was visible in the wooded area behind the house, though the house and the barn to the left did not appear to be affected. However, a structure farther back on the property did appear to have been leveled by fire.

One civilian was injured and has been transported to Vanderbilt Medical Center. That victim’s condition is currently unknown.
