Megan Wampold, daughter of Scott and Diana Wampold, is this week’s Jet’s Pizza female Athlete of the Week
She is a senior at Franklin High School and a member of the varsity cheerleading team.
She holds the position of a back spot for the team. She said that her favorite moments from this season so far have been making the All-American and All-State teams.
“It is a great honor to be representing Franklin in such a positive way,” Wampold said.
Wampold got her start in the sport by following in her older sister’s footsteps.
“I thought it was so cool,” she said. “I of course had to try it as well, then fell in love.”
When asked what inspires her to train and compete she said, “I get the most amazing feeling when I perform. Hearing the crowd cheer while doing my favorite thing makes me never want to stop.”
One of her biggest role models is her father, Scott.
“He is always so motivated and pushes me to be the best version of myself,” she said.
Outside of cheer, Wampold enjoys dancing and swimming.
After graduating from FHS this year, she hopes to continue cheering in college and eventually have a career that gives her the chance to travel the world.
