Tucker Smith, son of Emily and Chris Goodman, is a senior at Franklin High School and this week’s Athlete of the Week.
He is a member of the Varsity Boys Baseball Team and plays outfield positions. He has been the hit lead off for the varsity team both his junior and senior year with a batting average of .300.
Smith started playing baseball when he was only four years old and said he immediately “fell in love with the sport.”
When asked what inspires him to continue training and competing he said, “My hardworking mentality inspires me to be the best I can be at everything I do.”
John Whipple, the Head Baseball Coach at FHS said of Smith, “Tucker is the ideal player that you love to coach. He shows up every day ready to work hard and get better. Our players and coach look to him and know they can count on him to do what needs to be done when it needs to be done.”
Smith said that his biggest role models are his parents, Emily and Chris. “They work incredibly hard to provide for my family and do everything to keep us happy,” he said.
After graduating from FHS this spring, he will attend Mississippi State University where he plans to study Business Administration.
