Job Dooley, son of Jamie and John Dooley, is a senior at Franklin High School and this week’s Athlete of the Week.
He is a two-time captain of the wrestling team and competes in the 130-pound weight class.
Before he was ever competing, Dooley’s brother was on the mat. He said his brother was his inspiration to start.
When asked what inspires him to continue training and competing he said, “I am very competitive, so I guess just a natural inclination to find success when I compete.”
FVHS Wrestling Coach Tucker Cathey said of Dooley, “Job started wrestling in kindergarten with Copperheads. He wrestled for three years at Grassland Middle School, is a three-time WCMAA Champion and a four-year letterman at Franklin High School in wrestling… This year Job has a season record of 32-1.”
Cathey added that outside of wrestling, Dooley is also a member of Youth Leadership Franklin and founded the Remembering Our Veterans Club at FHS.
Two of his biggest role models are his parents, Jamie and John. “They work so hard to provide for me and my siblings,” he said. “They are very supportive in all aspects of my life.”
Dooley has a 4.36 GPA and an ACT score of 32. In the fall, he plans to attend The University of Tennessee- Knoxville and major in Mechanical Engineering.
