Sarah Scarborough, daughter of Rachel and Jimmy Kight, is a junior at Fairview High School and a member of the JROTC program at FHS.
She is the assistant captain of the team and helped the team make it to the National Rope Bridge Championship. The team also came in third in the country for their second year in a row.
She got her start after hearing great things about it in the JROTC class. Her brother had also previously competed with JROTC.
When asked what inspires her to train and compete she said, “I try to be the best example I can be for my team.”
One of her biggest role models is her brother, Andrew.
“He’s taught me many things through my life and showed me what it means to never give up,” she said.
One of Scarborough’s teachers said of her, “Sarah is an outstanding leader that doesn’t understand the meaning of the word ‘quit.’ She is a technical expert in all things Raider and she is a strong asset to our team.”
After she finishes at FHS, Scarborough plans to attend Austin Peay University and pursue a degree in business.
