Kylie Wanninger, daughter of Michelle and Jeffry Wanninger, is a junior at Fairview High School and a member of the varsity softball team.
She plays the position of left field and said that her biggest accomplishment this season was hitting two doubles and a triple in a game.
Wanninger said she got her start in the sport after encouragement from her mother.
“Mom wanted me to play a sport when I was younger, so she signed me up for softball,” she said.
When asked what inspires her to train and compete she said, “I’d like to go to college for softball, but right now I just want to get better every day.”
One of Wanninger’s biggest role models and inspirations is her mother, Michelle.
“She works so hard for everything and I want to be like that,” she said.
On the field, she describes herself as versatile. “I can play wherever coach puts me,” she said.
After graduating from Fairview High, she plans to attend college and continue playing softball there. She said she would eventually like to have a career as a teacher.
