Michaela Rayburn, daughter of Margaret and Jeff Rayburn, is a sophomore at Centennial High School and this week’s Athlete of the Week.
She competes in CHS’s Special Olympics and has placed second and fifth in previous games.
She started competing when she was in the first grade and has been doing so ever since.
When asked what inspires her to stay involved and continue training she said, “I just enjoy playing games and running with my friends.”
Rayburn said her older sister is her biggest role model and inspiration. “She’s my best friend,” Rayburn said.
She describes herself as happy, playful and funny. Outside of the Special Olympics, she enjoys swimming, bowling and playing games on her iPad.
After graduating high school, she said she would like to find and be trained at a job in her community.
