Alex Steele, son of Tanisha Chambliss, is this week’s Jet’s Pizza male Athlete of the Week
He is a junior at Centennial High School and a member of the varsity football team.
He plays the positions of linebacker and running back for the team. One of his biggest highlights this season, he said, was a “big sack against Independence.”
He said that he started playing football when he was very little, after begging his dad to let him start.
“I haven’t looked back since,” he said.
He said his most important inspiration when he’s training and competing is his younger sister.
One of his biggest role models is Al McKeller, a football player for the University of Indianapolis. “He has been a big reason why I decided to play high school football,” Steele said.
Matt Kriesky, Head Football Coach and CHS Athletic Director, said of Steele, “Alex is an athlete who has unlimited potential on the football field. He has bought into the things we are trying to accomplish as a team. We are proud of him and the success he is having this season.”
After graduating from CHS, Steele plans to play football at the collegiate level.
