Amstar sells Cool Springs property near Whole Foods to undisclosed buyer

Amstar announced today the sale of Northside at McEwen, a 45-acre land parcel located in Cool Springs.

More mixed-use development, possibly including a hotel, could be coming to a project that now features Whole Foods, the Dwell apartments, and an office building.

Amstar, which has been developing the property in partnership with Southern Land, announced the sale of Northside at McEwen, a 45-acre land parcel located in Cool Springs.

Northside at McEwen is the last developable parcel within the 90-acre McEwen master planned community, which Amstar previously owned and constructed in partnership with Southern Land Company.

The master planned community features a Whole Foods Market anchored shopping center, two class “A” apartments totaling 370 units and a 175,000-square-foot office building.

Northside at McEwen has entitlements for additional mixed-use development consisting of commercial, residential and hotel units. The site is one-half mile west of Interstate 65.

“It has been a very rewarding experience developing the McEwen master planned community and witnessing its transformative impact on Franklin,” Amstar Chief Operating Officer Doug Wiley said. “It’s a great piece of dirt. We are excited to see the buyer complete this development and bring to fruition our original vision for this overall site.”

The buyer and sale price were not disclosed. Jim Hamilton and Richard Reid of Holliday Fenoglio Fowler, LP represented the seller in this transaction.
