Nolensville’s annual Buttercup Festival is back for its 19th year.
This free, one-day event that regularly attracts thousands will return from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, in the town’s Historic District.
“We’re excited to present this free event to the community for the 19th year and look forward to another great festival all can enjoy,” a statement from the Buttercup Festival Committee read.
As in years past, shops in the Historic District will offer special sales throughout the day. Shopper will have even more options, too, thanks to the more than 100 artisan vendors who will be lined up from Old Clovercroft Road to the Nolensville Feed Mill.
Food vendors will be on hand serving a variety of items ranging from BBQ, burgers and hot dogs to shrimp and homemade ice cream. Southern Hospitality Diner will also be open and serving food all day.
Live music from local musicians will also be featured.
Another regular part of the festival is the “Little Miss Buttercup” pageant. The pageant will take place at 1 p.m. behind A Homeplace Bed & Breakfast. Little Miss Buttercup applications can be found on the Nolensville Buttercup Festival Facebook page or at The Peacock Lane store.
Before the pageant begins, two high school seniors will be announced as the latest recipients of The Evelyn Bennett Buttercup Scholarship.
Visitors will also get a chance to interact with some history in the form of Civil War reenactors from the 46th Tennessee Infantry Company K. They will set up camp next to Nolensville First United Methodist Church.
And let’s not forget the little ones! A kid’s area will also be a part
of the festival with pony rides and a petting zoo for a small fee.
Sam the Balloon Man will also be back this year.
Parking will be available with shuttle service at Nolensville Elementary School, the Nolensville Ball Park, the Nolensville Recreation Complex, Town Hall, and Sunset Hills Baptist Church. Drop off and pick-up will be available at First United Methodist Church.
Stay tuned to the Historic Nolensville Buttercup Festival Facebook page for the map and stage schedule.
This event would not be possible without the downtown local merchants of Nolensville who will all run sales and specials during the event: The Painted Dragonfly, The Peacock Lane, The Tanner House, Three French Hens, The Nolensville Feed Mill- Amish Goods, The Village Antiques, Shabby Lane, Pick-it Fence Junktique, Nolensville Toy Shop and Southern Hospitality Diner.
